I also agree sadly with your assessment--one of the producers (Maybe JM?) pointed out that they're not set up to do two shows anymore, and if they're going to do SGW as a tv show, it, cryptically, 'would be very difficult to revert back to the 40 episode per year model.' I think that's as close as we'll get to proof for a while.
I just have one thing to say to that. WHAT WHY UGH would you choose to cancel a show with a pre-existing fanbase in order to introduce a NEW show in the same universe? DOES NOT COMPUTE.
I just want three things not to happen:
1) Please don't kill anyone off --I don't see this as a huge worry now that I've had more perspective and remembered about SGW, because they'll possibly still want cameos. But still. The 'emotional resonance' with the audience is SUFFICIENT via cancellation, we don't need to wring out more sympathy.
2) Happy ending =/= everyone in the Milky Way --Oh, for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY IN ANY RELIGION please don't send everyone home and destroy Atlantis for a 'wrap up' piece of shit ugh no just no no no. Incoherent begging commences.
3) This isn't SG-1's swan song, it's SGA's. Please don't bring characters over just to 'finalize' their Stargate experience Again, less of a worry as on the ride home now that I remember about SGW, but seriously, I'm a bit worried about this, especially as you said that SGA has been the relative, not the cherished family member. I want it to be OUR guys, not 'lets cram everyone we can in to say goodbye.' That goes for the movies, too.
