Ok. I don't think I've ever seen a relationship written more beautiful than Simon's love for River.
Now, I know I'm prone to emotionality (can you tell the language is popping up after watching this for hours?), but I think I'd hold this opinion whether or not I was crying every hour or so.
Anyone that knows how to dial into the fanbase for Firefly/Serenity, I'd like to plug into that. Particularly if Joss expounded on what he might have had planned...
There have only been two fandoms I've been really into where I have simply not felt the need to alter anything with fanfic. It's a different feeling than not wanting to add-to, more like everything seems to be just fine without my meddling with it. Not saying I won't probably try, but Firefly and Lord of the Rings are those two.
That and there are probably about 15 million plot twists between me and the sorry short end of this series...
ps. I really like the dialogue. I have a feeling I'm going to be making my husband not right in the head by adopting it for the next few days, however...

Date: 2006-08-23 08:54 am (UTC)I loved Notting Hill, it's one of my favorite movies. Just the same, as a science fiction fan I'm always a little offended when "set in space" is used as a code to indicate a movie must be really bad. I think Julia Roberts would make a fine starship commander. :-)
